Please join Judy M. Gantt, Director, and Louise E. Shaw, Curator, David J. Spencer CDC Museum, along with representatives from CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health and CDC’s Office of Sustainability, for coffee and a tour of our current exhibition, GYRE: The Plastic Ocean, organized by the Anchorage Museum in Alaska.

Coffees have been scheduled for May 8, and May 22, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the Museum located at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters on Clifton Road, Atlanta.

Free and open to the public through June 19, 2015, GYRE: The Plastic Ocean is a unique science and art exhibition that explores the complex relationship between humans and the ocean in a contemporary culture of consumption. Twenty-five international artists examine the growing problem of plastic pollution through installations, photographs, paintings, sculpture, and video–reinforced by striking infographics and data. In addition, the David J. Sencer CDC Museum worked with NOAA’s Marine Debris Program to reinforce the message with documentation of marine trash found along the Southeast and Gulf of Mexico coasts.

Please R.S.V.P. to noting which coffee you plan to attend: Friday, May 8, 2015 or Friday, May 22, 2015
