Get to know the staff at Georgia River Network! This round’s Staff Highlight is: Gwyneth Moody!

Gwyneth has served as Georgia River Network’s Community Programs Coordinator from Feb 2012 through June 2015. This position entails coordinating and leading programs and tasks within Georgia River Network’s ‘Engage’ program.

The majority of Gwyneth’s time is spent leading the Georgia Water Trails Program which includes maintaining and updating the Georgia Water Trail Website, Toolkit, and Clearinghouse, providing Georgia Water Trails Technical Assistance to watershed groups throughout the state, writing a monthly Georgia Water Trails Newsletter, and coordinating Georgia River Network’s Hidden Gems Paddling Series.

These resources provide information to recreational users about Georgia’s established water trails, support representatives and communities in developing their water trails, and help maintain the Georgia Water Trails Network, a statewide network of water trails.

Gwyneth has initiated partnerships with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division Outreach Unit and the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission to develop interactive and illustrative maps for Georgia‘s water trails and coordinated a successful Georgia Water Trails Workshop in 2012 and plans to coordinate another workshop in 2016.

She serves on the Tennessee Blueway Steering Committee as well as the Georgia Trail Summit Steering Committee.

In addition to her Water Trail work, she also manages Georgia River Network’s social media outlets, takes photos and videos at Georgia River Network’s events such as Weekend for Rivers, Len Foote Hike Inn event and fundraisers as well as other watershed group events and serves as the official Georgia River Network’s photographer and blogger for Paddle Georgia.
