South River Water Trail updates!

Georgia River Network is providing intensive technical assistance on water trail development of the South River Water Trail! It’s part of the Upper Ocmulgee River watershed and is approximately 60 miles long. The main South River tributary emerges into daylght just north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The South River Water Trail (SRWT), located in metro Atlanta, starts in DeKalb county near Constitution Lake and flows to Jackson Lake in Butts County. The water trail is currently being developed by the South River Watershed Alliance, Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, Panola Mountain State Park, and the counties of Dekalb, Rockdale, Henry, and Newton.
