Coosa River Basin Fish Fry!

November 4, 2016

Come out to the Coosa River Basin Initiative Fish Fry November 12th from 11am to 3pm at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Rome!
Enjoy fried U.S.-farm-raised catfish filets, hushpuppies, cole slaw and cheese grits. Wash it all down with tea and then try one or more of the delicious homemade desserts baked by the Musselhead volunteers!

Tickets are $10 for two filet plates, and $7 for “small fry” plates (only one filet). Tickets may be purchased online at or at the following locations

CRBI in Rome at 408 Broad St.

Lavender Mountain Hardware in Armuchee at 4065 Martha Berry Hwy.

Kroger in Rome at 1476 Turner McCall Blvd.

Cedar Creek Park in Cave Spring at 6770 Cave Spring Rd.

Some of Rome’s finest local “celebrities” are competing for the chance to kiss a live Coosa River catfish at the Fish Fry. The “winners” will be determined by the amount of money they raise to help protect Georgias rivers. The three contestants that raise the most money kiss…as does the contestant who raises the least money (the bottom feeder). Of course, anyone that wants to show their love for catfish is welcome to join in the fun. The smooching begins at 2 p.m.
