January 13, 2017
Have YOU heard? The nomination deadlines for the Georgia Adopt-A-Stream awards AND the Adopt-A-Stream Water Science Poster Session have BOTH been extended until January 23rd, 2017!

The FIVE goals of the Adopt-A-Stream program are
1) Increase public awareness of the State’s nonpoint source pollution and water quality issues
2)Collect quality baseline water quality data
3)Encourage volunteers to take observations of their adopted site and surrounding environment
4) Encourage partnerships between citizens and their local government
5) Provide citizens with the tools and training to evaluate and protect their local waterways.

If YOU know of an active Adopt-A-Stream trainer, volunteer or watershed group that exemplifies the five goals of the program, submit a nomination! You can even nominate yourself!

There are Volunteer awards, Trainer awards AND Watershed awards.
